APO Asian Productivity Organization

ORGANIZATION

Established in 1997 under the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ), Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Productivity Centre (VPC) acts as the core of the productivity and quality movement in the country and as the implementing organization for APO projects.

ACTIVITIES

The VPC's activities cover a wide range of areas with special focus on socioeconomic development, environmental performance, productivity measurement, quality management, Green Productivity, and community development. It assists Vietnamese organizations and communities by transferring knowledge and management solutions. The VPC has been contributing to the development of Vietnam through the following activities.

1. Disseminating and promoting a productivity-oriented culture through the mass media and publications;
2. Conducting workshops, seminars, and conferences for information exchange and experience sharing among various stakeholders;
3. Encouraging 5S applications in Vietnamese organizations through certification after onsite assessment by qualified auditors under the 5S Best Practices Certification Board;
4. Coordinating and implementing the National Productivity and Quality Improvement Program;
5. Offering training and consultancy services on ISO9000, ISO14000, ISO22000, ISO17025, 5S/kaizen, productivity measurement, lean manufacturing, total productive maintenance, knowledge management, customer relationship management, business excellence, etc.
6. Conducting research and organizing international and local projects on productivity, quality, and the environment; and
7. Coordinating and participating in APO projects.
