APO Society of Thailand

Objectives:

  • Promote a better understanding of productivity
  • Provide networking opportunities among members and the FTPI
  • Strengthen the APO’s presence in Thailand
  • Disseminate knowledge acquired from APO projects

Organizational structure:

  • Managed by the International Relations (IR) Department of the FTPI (APO Team)

Membership:

  • 1165 (526 public sector and 639 private sector, as of Jan 2009)
  • Membership is granted to all participants (upon completion of project)

Privileges:

  • Free attendance at APO Society Talks
  • Membership rate on application for FTPI Public Training
  • Free subscription to the APO Digest, APO Directory, APO Annual Program, and access to APO and FTPI information

Financing:

  • Subsidy from the Ministry of Industry; the FTPI submits an annual report and project proposal for the budget

Major activities:

  • Publishing the quarterly APO Digest, a booklet of knowledge and experience shared from Thais who participate in APO projects
  • Publishing the APO Society Directory, an annual report on international relations activities of the FTPI
  • APO Society Talks: a public seminar held 2–4 times annually since 2003 to share knowledge and experience gained from participation in APO projects
  • APO Society Road Show: Jointly organizing a road show with the TQA Road Show of the Office of Thailand Quality Award or other departments/organizations

*The FTPI also operates an FTPI body for individuals and companies committed to maintaining competitiveness and productivity improvement. It has 2000 members.
