The National Productivity and Development Center (NPDC)
was established in March 1992 as a tripartite body comprising
employers' associations, trade unions, and academia.
It is a non-profit-making organization.
Since 1994 NPDC has been conducting its activities
under the auspices of the National Development Board
of Mongolia. In the same year the Ministry of Justice
officially registered NPDC as a non-governmental agency.
NPDC has more than 70 members from industries, labor,
academic circles, individuals, and professionals.
ACTIVITIES
The NPDC's activities are conducted through the following
areas:
- Integrated Productivity and Quality Improvement
(IPQI)
NPDC promotes IPQI projects in its client organizations
via disseminating productivity and quality improvement
techniques, providing training and assistance programs.
- Technical Expert Services and Quality Assurance
Programs
NPDC is providing linkages between domestic and overseas
institutions by technical expert services and quality
assurance programs. It is now in the process of assisting
local enterprises to obtain the ISO-9000 series certificates.
- Industrial and Economic Engineering
For promoting basic and advanced techniques in national
industries, NPDC is conducting seminars and training
courses, disseminating information through its own
periodical "Productivity News" and guiding
students' diploma works and dissertations for raising
the skills of national industrial specialists.
- Small and Medium Industries Development
NPDC undertakes the measures of promoting nascent
small and medium industries development, as a crucial
aspect of the national economy. On the basis of existing
conditions it provides assistance to companies for
achieving a total approach to productivity improvement,
encompassing both the human and non-human aspects
of productivity.
- Development Studies and Economic Forecasting
NPDC is undertaking to study the level of productivity
and quality, to identify and determine the problem
areas and appropriate techniques for solving them,
and to offer recommendations and methods suitable
for specific conditions.
- Computer Networking and Trunk & Radio Communications
NPDC helps companies and organizations in office automation
and trunk radio networking.
