SUMMARY:Benchmarking Study Visit to Turkiye on Behavioral Insights for Enhancing Public-sector Efficiency\, Regulatory Reform\, and Digital Transformation in Malaysia
DESCRIPTION:Behavioral insights (BI) apply lessons from psychology\, behavioral economics\, and cognitive science to better understand decision-making and encourage positive behavioral change. Recognizing its value\, the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) 2026–2030 identifies BI as a strategic approach to improving outcomes in healthcare\, financial planning\, environmental sustainability\, and public-sector governance. By integrating behavioral science into policymaking\, Malaysia aims to enhance policy effectiveness\, citizen engagement\, and productivity. \nThe Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) has been entrusted to drive the adoption of BI across the public sector. Key initiatives include the National BI Conference\, pilot projects and case studies with government agencies\, and a digital-learning platform to strengthen BI capabilities among public officers and support evidence-based policymaking. \nGiven Turkiye’s notable achievements in public-sector reform\, digital transformation\, and regulatory innovation\, this IOSM will provide Malaysian delegates with practical insights into applications of BI in policymaking and service delivery. It will also facilitate learning on BI governance\, behavioral interventions\, and public–private collaboration\, while creating opportunities to explore mutually beneficial collaboration initiatives between APO members. \nFor more details\, please click here.
