SUMMARY:Multicountry Observational Study Mission on Women's Economic Empowerment
DESCRIPTION:Women’s economic empowerment is central to closing gender inequality gaps for economic diversification. It boosts productivity and increases income equality. According to UN Women (2024)\, the lack of equal rights and access to economic resources and markets limits women’s productivity and perpetuates multidimensional\, intergenerational poverty\, and gender disparities in income and well-being. Women’s economic empowerment is about the creation\, distribution\, and management of economic value\, establishing conditions for equal economic participation. This includes opportunities for decent work\, entrepreneurship\, and both paid and unpaid care and domestic work. \nBy 2030\, the Japanese government’s goal is for women to occupy at least 30% of executive roles. This study mission will provide opportunities to observe best practices and emerging trends in Japan for promoting women’s economic empowerment. Participants will develop proposals on how to promote women’s equality in their socioeconomic contexts. \nFor more details please click on PN.
