SUMMARY:Workshop on Enhancing Service-sector Productivity with Cloud Solutions
DESCRIPTION:In the Asia-Pacific region\, the service sector plays a significant role in economic and labor productivity growth. According to the APO Productivity Databook 2021\, in 2010–19 the service sector dominated GDP growth\, and advances in ICT have led to increases in service-sector contributions to labor productivity growth in most Asian countries. The proliferation of new technology-based services further suggests that service-centric development may be a way to transition to developed-economy status. \nCloud solution technologies are advancing at an exponential pace. They offer immense potential for boosting enterprises’ profitability and productivity\, making businesses more competitive. Cloud solutions offer technologies as a service\, allowing enterprises to harness them without upfront capital costs for building infrastructure. This is especially beneficial to service-sector SMEs as it reduces cash outflows. Software solutions available as a service provide necessary tools for the overall management of business processes. They include providing cloud storage for huge amounts of data accessible irrespective of geographic location\, managing finance and accounting\, optimizing organizational human resource assignments\, and building customer relationships\, communications\, and marketing. \nThis workshop will provide insights into approaches to capitalize on the benefits of cloud-based solutions in improving the productivity of service-sector enterprises.
