DESCRIPTION:The tourism sector is a significant economic contributor as it generates employment and increases business opportunities in many APO members. The Travel & Tourism Development Index 2021 of the WEF has the theme “Rebuilding for a Sustainable and Resilient Future.” Embedding inclusivity\, sustainability\, and resilience in the travel and tourism sector as it recovers can be a driver of global connectivity\, peace\, and socioeconomic progress. \nGreen tourism is a growing trend that aims to minimize the negative impacts of travel on the environment\, society\, and economy. It promotes methods for businesses and organizations to reduce energy use\, save water\, use efficient and eco-friendly waste disposal\, minimize pollution and negative impacts on marine life\, and promote biodiversity.
