SUMMARY:TES on Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Industry Development by RCCI
DESCRIPTION:Pakistan’s Pharmaceuticals Export Strategy 2023–2027 identifies pharmaceuticals as a priority export sector and calls for stronger compliance with international production standards\, including more GMP-\, FDA- or EMA-approved plants. URAAN Pakistan\, the government’s Five-Year National Economic Transformation Plan (2024–29)\, likewise emphasizes export-led growth through its 5Es framework: (i) Exports\, (ii) E-Pakistan\, (iii) Environment – Food and Water Security\, (iv) Energy and Infrastructure\, and (v) Equity\, Ethics\, and Empowerment. Against this policy backdrop\, this TES project aims to strengthen participating companies’ readiness for applicable US FDA requirements and highly regulated export markets. \nThis TES project supports Pakistani pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies in meeting FDA compliance requirements for exports to the USA\, providing expert guidance on production processes\, documentation\, quality control\, and regulatory requirements\, and develops a model FDA compliance framework replicable across the sector. It contributes primarily to the Pillar 3 process and workforce improvement agenda. As a secondary contribution\, its policy recommendations are tagged against Pillar 1\, in which the 2026 KR calls for a multistakeholder committee to define baseline sector productivity KPIs. \nThe 10-day face-to-face TES project will combine expert consultation\, capacity building\, and company-level technical assessment. The resource person(s) will review selected companies’ practices and systems\, identify compliance gaps\, recommend corrective and technical interventions\, and support practical improvement actions. \nFindings and lessons will be consolidated into a model FDA compliance framework for sector-wide replication\, while strengthening workforce capability\, export readiness\, regulatory compliance\, competitiveness\, and productivity. \nFor more details\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Technical Workshop on Green Transformation and Low-carbon Manufacturing for Priority Sectors
DESCRIPTION:Stringent decarbonization regulations such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism with active financial obligations across global supply chains is nudging manufacturing-driven economies including Vietnam and the ROC to actively strive for advances in green growth\, renewable energy development\, the circular economy\, and low‑carbon industrial transformation. \nWith shared priorities and mutual interest\, this workshop through involvement of experts from the ROC and Vietnam besides strengthening the VNPI’s capacity to promote green transformation and low-carbon manufacturing in priority sectors will foster constructive dialogue and collaborative partnerships among the target audience including government agencies\, industry associations\, and enterprises. \nAt the NPO level\, the experience sharing and knowledge exchange during the workshop will have a cascading effect on plausible future projects between the VNPI and CPC in line with their green transition pathways. \nFor more details\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Centers of Excellence
DESCRIPTION:The APO COE on GP\, established in 2013 and hosted by the CPC\, promotes GP and sustainable development across the Asia-Pacific region. Leveraging the ROC’s expertise in green technologies\, the COE on GP supports APO members through capacity development\, technical cooperation\, knowledge sharing\, and dissemination of best practices\, with a focus on resource recycling\, green energy\, green factories\, green value chains\, and agro-innovations. \nThe mission operationalizes the COE on GP’s mandate in Vietnam through collaboration with STAMEQ/NPO Vietnam and engagements with the Hanoi Industrial Textile Garment University (HITU)\, BSI Vietnam\, and Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company. Through a workshop\, institutional exchanges\, and site visits\, the mission will expose the delegation to Vietnam’s policy and standards environment\, green skills and academia–industry cooperation\, manufacturing and smart production practices\, energy and carbon management\, circularity\, and sustainable supply chains\, while exploring approaches with potential for replication across other APO members. \nFor more details\, please click here.
