SUMMARY:Water Management for Climate-smart Rice Production and Green Productivity Using Japan’s JCM Carbon Credit Scheme

Dr. Kazunori Minamikawa\, Deputy Project Leader at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences\, explains the underlying mechanisms of climate-smart water management\, its practical implications\, and approaches for encouraging farmer adoption. He also discusses the role of Japan’s Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM)\, a scheme for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through cooperation with developing countries.
