SUMMARY:Workshop on Service Innovation in the Food and Beverage Industry
DESCRIPTION:The latest technology has contributed to modernizing food and beverage business models and creating new opportunities and challenges. ICT-based agricultural production\, processing\, manufacturing\, packaging\, transportation\, marketing\, and customer data are analyzed to identify preferences\, reduce operating costs\, and maximize profits. AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants are used for taking orders\, resolving issues\, or making recommendations\, and robots are serving food. Personalization and customer experience are also enhanced through data-driven customization and experiencefocused concepts. \nIn addition\, sustainability and ethical practices are conducted such as eco-friendly packaging and zero-waste initiatives\, sourcing transparency\, and local produce and carbon labeling. This workshop will examine the benefits and potential of service innovation in the food and beverage industry and analyze opportunities to improve productivity in the sector in APO members. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Conference on Digital Transformation and Regulatory Technology (RegTech) for Improving Public-sector Productivity
DESCRIPTION:Modernized regulations are essential to balance interests\, achieve societal goals\, and drive economic growth. Rapid technological change is outpacing regulatory systems\, creating challenges for governance\, the workforce\, and society. Traditionally manual and resource-heavy\, regulatory compliance is becoming more complex due to rising data demands\, real-time monitoring needs\, and evolving rules. RegTech\, leveraging AI\, big data\, and automation\, offers tools for streamlining compliance\, risk management\, and enforcement\, enabling real-time oversight and smarter reporting. \nAPO members are using digital transformation to enhance service delivery. However\, regulatory complexity\, institutional inertia\, and technological readiness gaps hinder RegTech adoption. Sharing knowledge and global best practices is key to building more agile\, integrated\, responsive regulatory systems. This conference will explore emerging technologies\, best practices\, and future-ready strategies. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Promoting Productivity through Digitalization
DESCRIPTION:By streamlining operations\, enabling data-driven decisions\, and fostering innovation\, digital tools directly enhance efficiency and output. According to the UNCTAD E-commerce and Digital Economy Programme: Year in Review 2023\, digitalization plays a critical role in economic inclusion and competitiveness\, particularly in developing countries. The OECD Digital Economy Outlook 2024 highlights how smart transformation has become essential for productivity gains across industries. However\, many organizations are still struggling to unlock these benefits due to capability gaps and lack of strategic alignment. \nIn 2025\, the APO decided to promote AI to raise productivity. This workshop will equip participants with practical knowledge and tools\, including AI\, to plan\, implement\, and sustain digital transformation initiatives leading to tangible productivity improvements. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Conference on Informal-economy Productivity Measurement
DESCRIPTION:The informal economy accounts for about 66% of total employment in the Asia-Pacific\, involving approximately 1.3 billion workers (ILO\, 2025). Despite its scale\, it is often marked by low productivity\, limited access to markets and finance\, and exclusion from labor protection and formal policy support. \nEnhancing informal-sector productivity and reducing its share in the economy is a key priority under the APO Vision 2025. APO research across 10 selected member economies in 2023 identified a major constraint: the lack of consistent\, reliable data on informal-sector productivity due to varied definitions and limited statistical capacity. This underscores the urgent need for harmonized measurement frameworks and stronger data systems. \nThis conference aims to address these challenges by exploring practical methodologies for measuring informal-economy productivity and sharing best practices to support inclusive\, evidence-based policymaking and advance formalization and sustainable growth. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Workshop on the Exponential Workplace
DESCRIPTION:The ExW is a work environment designed to scale productivity\, innovation\, and impact at an exponential rate\, rather than through incremental or linear improvements. It leverages emerging technologies\, agile structures\, and a forward-looking mindset to enable individuals and teams to achieve outsized results with fewer resources (APO\, 2022). \nThe COVID-19 pandemic significantly transformed work styles\, accelerating the adoption of technology in the workplace. That trend had already been gaining momentum due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To ensure that member economies are well informed and up to date\, the APO has implemented several initiatives to explore the impact of digitalization on workplace productivity. Building on those efforts\, this workshop will expand the scope of discussion and learning by focusing on the ExW concept. It will also incorporate recent advances in digital tools\, especially AI\, to enhance productivity in the workplace. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Conference on Improvement of Productivity in Greenhouse Vegetable Production
DESCRIPTION:With the support of a special cash grant from the Government of Japan\, the APO initiated a demonstration farm project in October 2022 on Improvement of Productivity in Greenhouse Vegetable Production. This project aims to showcase microclimate control systems used by Japanese greenhouses and help farmers in Vietnam utilize the systems. It is expected to enhance labor productivity and sustainability in vegetable production in Vietnam. Garden Mountain (GM) was selected as a demonstration company under the project. Using a similar system operated by companies in Japan\, GM has achieved some remarkable results in raising labor productivity\, process efficiency\, and sustainability. \nTo share the results and disseminate the knowledge to other members\, this conference is conducted to help participants understand the mechanisms of control and microclimate data collection and benefits of using them. It will also demonstrate the achievements of GM so that other members understand the benefits of digital transformation and adopt the systems in their contexts. \nFor more details please click on PIP.
