SUMMARY:Multicountry Observational Study Mission on Productivity Gainsharing in Agriculture
DESCRIPTION:Productivity gainsharing is a model in which improved productivity\, efficiency\, or financial gains are fairly distributed among stakeholders. The 2025 APO report Advancing Shared Prosperity: Best Practices in Productivity Gainsharing in Asia’s Agrifood Sector highlighted that gainsharing is essential for equitable profit distribution\, efficiency improvements\, and sustainability in agrifood systems. Best practices will be showcased in this study mission. \nAmong APO members\, Nepal has made substantial progress in high-value cash crops such as tea\, coffee\, and cardamom\, which now compete effectively in global markets. The dairy industry continues to expand with innovative products like milk-based dog chews\, while agrotourism is a promising avenue linking agriculture with rural tourism. Cooperative models\, contract farming\, and farmer/producer organizations in these subsectors drive value addition\, expand markets\, and improve farmer livelihoods. \nFor more details please click on PN.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Human Capital Management in SMEs
DESCRIPTION:HCM transforms traditional HR functions such as recruitment\, training\, payroll\, and performance management into strategic opportunities to enhance employee engagement\, productivity\, and overall business value. HCM views the workforce not merely as a cost of doing business but as a core asset whose value can be maximized through strategic investment and management. By focusing on human capital as a source of value creation\, business leaders are encouraged to develop and implement workforce strategies closely aligned with corporate goals. SMEs\, which account for around 70% of employment in APO members\, face common workforce challenges including skill gaps\, weak talent development systems\, and limited governmental support for capability building (2025 APO Report on SME Productivity and Innovation in Asia). HCM strategies could serve as a solution for SMEs to address these challenges\, enabling them to remain competitive amid rapid technological change and intensifying global competition. \nFor more details please click on PN.
