This working paper synthesizes the findings of a workshop held in March 2015 in the ROC. It also suggests further work by the APO in the area of Green Productivity in the region.
This handbook is a follow-up initiative based on suggestions and recommendations by participants in the APO Workshop on SME Productivity Measurement and Analysis for NPOs organized in November 2013 in Singapore.
Integrating other international frameworks for green enterprises and sustainable awards, this framework enables assessments of the environmental performance and productivity of enterprises. The aim is to encourage positive contributions to society while promoting corporate competitiveness through innovation.
Findings from the research and assessment of Green Productivity (GP) needs for APO member countries conducted by the Center of Excellence on GP during the second half of 2013 are presented. National experts from 13 APO member countries undertook the research based on rapid assessment methods, questionnaire surveys, and stakeholder meetings.
As detailed in this workshop report, participatory irrigation management improves water use efficiency. The active involvement of farmers in their management promises sustainability of irrigation systems through predictable water deliveries and allocations, along with increased agricultural productivity.
