The 7th Asia KLEMS Conference 2026 will focus on “Enhancing Regional Productivity and Competitiveness in Asia,” bringing together experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss strategies for strengthening regional economic performance. The conference will explore key drivers of economic competitiveness within the KLEMS framework with more oriented towards overcoming structural gaps in capital investment, labor market dynamics, innovation, digitalization, and supply chain efficiency. Discussions will center on best practices, emerging trends, and policy recommendations to improve productivity at the regional level and foster economic resilience. By encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing, the conference aims to address productivity gaps, enhance regional competitiveness, and drive sustainable growth across Asian economies
To further enhance its impact, Malaysia seeks to collaborate with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) by registering this program as APO Multi-Country Program. The collaboration will involve a formal request for participants and resource persons from APO’s network, leveraging their expertise in productivity enhancement, economic development and capacity building. This partnership will enrich discussions and align with APO Vision 2030 by fostering greater collaboration among APO members and enabling Malaysia to increase its competitiveness by gaining new knowledge, insights, and ideas from other APO members.
