Agriculture plays a vital role in ensuring food security and supporting economic development across APO member economies. However, the sector faces growing challenges from climate change, resource constraints, and increasing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining productivity. In response, net-zero circular agriculture has emerged as an effective approach to enhancing resource efficiency, reducing environmental impacts, and strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems.
This workshop will focus on key aspects of net-zero circular agriculture, including low-carbon production and management, circular utilization of agricultural resources, and the application of smart agriculture technologies. Through expert presentations, case studies, group discussions, and site visits, participants will gain practical insights into successful practices and innovative solutions from the ROC and other member economies. The workshop will strengthen participants’ capacity to advance agricultural development, improve resource-use efficiency, and support the transition toward more sustainable, resilient agricultural systems.
