NPO leaders and senior officials participated in an executive leadership program, jointly organized with INSEAD, designed to impart practical expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic productivity initiatives.
The APO reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening leadership capacity among national productivity organizations (NPOs) through the successful convening of the Executive Leadership Program for NPOs at the distinguished INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France. Held from 20 to 25 April 2025, this second iteration of the program, co-organized with INSEAD, brought together senior officials and productivity leaders from NPOs. Participants engaged in a transformative learning journey focusing on strategic productivity agendas, innovation systems, and the critical integration of artificial intelligence into national strategies. Designed to impart cutting-edge knowledge and cultivate enduring networks among NPO leaders, the program underscored the APO’s unwavering dedication to fostering resilient and future-ready leadership for sustainable productivity growth.
Further strengthening international collaboration, APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata held an official meeting with senior representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs in Brussels on 22 April 2025. Engaging with Alessandro Turrini, Head of Unit for Structural Reforms and Investments, and Luis García Lombardero, Policy Officer, Dr. Indra emphasized the mutual challenges faced by Asia and Europe in revitalizing productivity amid global economic uncertainties. Their discussions focused on the importance of independent productivity institutions, data-driven policymaking, and transparency and public engagement in national productivity strategies.
The dialogue also explored concrete avenues for future collaboration between the APO and the European Union’s network of national productivity boards. Both parties expressed keen interest in mutual knowledge exchange to address shared challenges such as digital transformation and the green economy transition. It was further agreed that the two institutions would explore the establishment of regular dialogue and exchanges on productivity policies, with the aim of mutually strengthening capacity in policy formulation and implementation. In a rapidly evolving global environment, such partnerships are essential to fostering innovation, promoting inclusive growth, and enhancing economic resilience across regions.
Through these milestone engagements in France and Belgium, the APO not only advanced its strategic initiatives but also elevated its role as a leading force in driving productivity enhancement on the global stage. By investing in leadership development and promoting international cooperation, the APO continues to position itself at the forefront of global productivity advancement, supporting its member economies in navigating complexities and seizing new opportunities for sustainable and inclusive development.
