The APO and OECD held a coordination meeting in the OECD Boulogne Building in Paris on 20 June 2019. APO Secretary-General Dr. Santhi Kanoktanaporn met with OECD Chief Statistician and Director of the Statistics and Data Directorate Martine Durand to discuss collaboration on the Sustainable Productivity project.

Director Durand said that the OECD was pleased to collaborate with the APO through a strong, active, visible partnership to improve data, estimates, and the collective understanding of multifactor productivity (MFP) to develop more reliable measures and more appropriate variables for the APO’s composite index this year.

In his remarks, Secretary-General Dr. Santhi stated that the discussion on an agreement to work more closely together through a formal memorandum of understanding (MOU) would provide the launchpad for future areas of investigation such as looking at product spaces, upgrading, and competition.

The APO and the OECD will continue to discuss how to work jointly through their formal MOU.
