Dr. Santhi meets Frank Hsieh Chang-Ting

APO Secretary-General Santhi Kanoktanaporn met Frank Hsieh Chang-Ting, Representative, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan, on 3 October 2016.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the constant support that the APO has received from the Republic of China (ROC), including hosting multicountry projects and disseminating Green Productivity (GP) knowledge and experience through the Center of Excellence on GP. He shared his vision of assisting member countries in enhancing the productivity and competitiveness in the digital era by promoting development of the SME sector and sharing new ideas in areas like the Internet of Things and industry 4.0.

Thanking the Secretary-General for the APO’s continuous efforts to contribute to regional development, Hsieh highlighted the ROC’s strong capacity in information and communication technology as well as in the electronics sector that could contribute to Dr. Santhi’s vision of technology-driven innovation for meeting the productivity and green development goals of the APO and member economies.
