Eco-products International Fair 2006
Singapore, October 31 – November 2

The APO organized the Eco-products International Fair 2006 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore from October 31 to November 2 with SPRING Singapore and the Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore. The fair, with a total space of 7,300 square meters, attracted more than 34,000 visitors in three days.

More than 100 exhibitors from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Sweden and other countries displayed their eco-friendly products and services at the Eco-products International Fair 2006 in an attempt to accelerate the expansion of green markets in the region. Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim, Singpaore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, delivered the opening address at the opening ceremony on October 31. APO Secretary-General Shigeo Takenaka also made remarks at the opening.

Also at the opening, Prof. Ryoichi Yamamoto, Vice Chairperson of the APO’s Green Productivity Advisory Committee, presented the newly published Eco-products Directory 2006 to Minister Ibrahim. The official logo of the Eco-products International Fair was also unveiled.

The APO organized the first Eco-products International Fair in Malaysia in 2004 and the second in Thailand in 2005 to showcase the most advanced environmental technologies, provide opportunities to explore business collaborations, and promote public awareness of environmentally friendly products and services in the Asia-Pacific region.
