A seven-member delegation from the Paraguayan Industrial Union paid a visit to the APO Secretariat on 23 October 2007. The delegation was in Japan for a project on Strengthening the Paraguayan Quality and Productivity Center organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Department of Administration and Finance Information Officer Sunju Lee made a detailed presentation on the organizational aspects of APO and its activities to promote the productivity movement in member countries. Research and Planning Department Director Mukesh D. Bhattarai briefed the delegation on the activities of that department in general and on the Development of NPOs Program in particular. Bhattarai emphasized the important role of national productivity organizations in spearheading the productivity movement in member countries.

The presentations were followed by a discussion session. The participants described the productivity activities being undertaken in Paraguay and agreed that the sharing of experiences across regions could be beneficial for Latin America. The visit ended with a tour of the Secretariat.
