TES project on post-COVID-19 leadership for Fiji

23 Jun 2022

The APO Technical Expert Services (TES) Program serves as the primary vehicle for strengthening the institutional capacities of NPOs and upgrading the technical knowledge and competencies of NPO staff and productivity practitioners through tailored, intensive interventions designed specifically to assist requesting APO members.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed people’s attitudes toward institutions in general and toward employers in particular. The National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) of Fiji has been at the forefront of the country’s leadership and management development initiatives. The NTPC has been developing and delivering programs to assist target beneficiaries in workforce management during these difficult times while coping with the current pandemic.

A TES project on Leadership in Post-COVID-19 was conducted 9‒11 May for public- and private-sector leaders, supervisors, managers, directors, and CEOs in Fiji to upgrade and enhance their skills in daily operations and related change management efforts. The project equipped participants with the problem-solving and decision-making leadership skills required in the post-COVID-19 era. Twenty participants from the NTPC and public- and private-sector organizations attended the three-day training course. A resource person Dr. Archana Yemeshvary Ashok Upadhyay, Chief Manager, Mumbai Refinery, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited from India gave presentations and facilitated group work and discussions.
