This workshop aims to strengthen participants’ capacity to apply sustainable soil management practices to enhance agricultural productivity, in line with the SPP Primer’s focus on resource efficiency and sustainable productivity.
This workshop strengthens participants’ capacity to apply sustainable soil management practices to enhance agricultural productivity. It is tagged as a primary contribution to Pillar 2’s smart-agriculture upskilling component and a secondary contribution to Pillar 3’s skilled-workforce agenda.
In line with Pillar 2, the activity will strengthen practical workforce capabilities for smart agriculture by linking sustainable soil management with innovative, technology- and data-enabled approaches to agricultural production and productivity improvement. Participants will examine how improved resource management and smart-agriculture practices can be applied to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and opportunities for value addition in the agriculture sector.
The workshop will combine technical learning with practical application and exchange of good practices so that participants can identify suitable approaches for their own institutional and production contexts. Particular emphasis will be placed on translating sustainable soil management and smart-agriculture concepts into practical actions that support innovation, digitalization, and workforce upskilling, consistent with the capacity-development objectives under Pillar 2.
Through the activity, participants are expected to strengthen their ability to apply relevant tools and approaches, identify productivity and value-addition opportunities, and disseminate the knowledge gained within their organizations. The resulting practical experience will contribute to broader efforts to strengthen smart-agriculture capabilities and productivity-oriented agricultural transformation.
