APO Secretariat Town Hall Focuses on Strengthening the Organization to Deliver Vision 2030

8 Jan 2026

The APO Secretariat held a town hall meeting on 5 January 2026, marking the first working day of the year. Convened at the initiative of the Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata, the session provided an opportunity to begin the year with a shared understanding of priorities and ways of working under the APO Vision 2030.

The town hall provided an opportunity for Secretariat staff to come together at the start of the year to reaffirm organizational priorities and align on the way forward. In his address, the Secretary-General underscored the importance of maintaining clarity of purpose and collective ownership as the organization enters a new phase guided by the APO Vision 2030. He reiterated that the Secretariat’s role is to translate the APO’s strategic direction into effective services, coordinated implementation, and tangible outcomes for members.

During the session, the Secretary-General set expectations for how operations and staff roles would evolve to ensure the Secretariat’s functions and workstreams align with Vision 2030. This evolution was presented as part of the APO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen internal coordination, enhance effectiveness, and ensure readiness to deliver on its strategic priorities in a responsive and member-focused manner.

Discussions further focused on confirming the next steps for implementing Vision 2030 through the Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) and related workstreams. The town hall served as a platform to ensure shared understanding across the Secretariat and support smooth implementation in the year ahead.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the Secretariat’s collective commitment to serve APO member economies through the effective execution of its strategic agenda in 2026.
