Developing More Public-sector Productivity Specialists in the Asia-Pacific Region

2 Sep 2025

The Training Course on Development of Public-sector Productivity Specialists was held on 4–15 August 2025 in Manila, the Philippines, hosted by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). It aimed to build participants’ capacity to become public-sector productivity specialists by equipping them with knowledge of productivity improvement strategies in the public sector and helping them master the required knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Twenty-five participants from 15 APO members and seven observers from the DAP attended the course. They were guided by three resource persons from the ROK, Malaysia, and the Philippines. In addition to classroom lectures and sessions, the course included site visits to the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Home Development Mutual Fund (also known as Pag-IBIG), and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (the central bank of the Philippines). Participants presented a comprehensive report on the site visits and prepared individual action plans for putting the knowledge and skills acquired from the training course into action.
