The APO Secretariat and the Vietnam National Productivity Institute conducted the second installation of Japanese microclimate control system equipment at the demonstration farm on greenhouse horticulture in Da Lat, Vietnam, 29–30 May. The installation was supported by a resource person from Japan under a special cash grant from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Japan. This project aims to showcase successes of the demonstration farm to other APO members and promote agricultural transformation in APO members through the adoption of smart technology applications.

The Chief Executive Officer of the farm said that the yield of the greenhouse had improved significantly more than expected since the first equipment installation. He reported that he has been able to control the environment of the greenhouse more effectively by monitoring the environment data. The second equipment installation is expected to further increase the farm’s productivity.
