The APO Secretariat held the Study Mission to a Nonmember Country on Innovative Technologies for Food Security on 15–19 September 2025. The objective was to showcase innovative technologies, methodologies, and practices used in the Netherlands to increase food security, meet food demand, and address nutritional insecurity, which would provide benchmarks and best practices for member economies to replicate.
Seventeen participants from 14 APO members completed this mission. Participants visited 13 sites, including Aeres University of Applied Sciences, Wageningen University & Research, Van den Borne Potato Farm, FoodX, and other private companies. They learned how innovative technologies and collaboration between private companies, government, and universities have contributed to food security in the Netherlands. After the mission, participants made their action plans in their economies and submitted them to the Secretariat.
