The Workshop on Productive Talent Management was held on 3–6 November 2025 in Nadi, Fiji. Hosted by the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, it aimed to explore the latest talent management strategies and recommend ways to achieve competitive advantage and improve performance with productive talent management.
Twenty-two participants from 13 APO members and the Cook Islands gained knowledge and insights from a total of three resource persons from Fiji, the Philippines, and Singapore. The workshop, part of a broader capacity-building initiative on productive talent management, explored how effective talent acquisition, development, engagement, management, and retention contribute directly to improved organizational productivity. Practical case studies demonstrated how public and private organizations have adopted effective talent management practices to drive productivity and organizational transformation. In the site visits, the Fiji Airways Aviation Academy and Jack’s of Fiji Limited showcased their best practices, technical expertise, insights, and challenges, giving participants an understanding of the reality of productive talent management. Participants prepared individual action plans on the last day to put the knowledge acquired from the workshop into action.
