Malaysia Organized Regional Conference on Behavioral Insights for Productivity Policymaking

The Malaysia Productivity Corporation held the Conference on Behavioral Insights in Policymaking for Productivity on 21–22 April 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event brought together international experts and policymakers from APO member economies and featured keynote addresses, expert presentations, panel forums, and site visits to showcase the practical applications of behavioral insights for improving public policy and productivity. Notable speakers from Australia, Brazil, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia shared insights into regulatory reforms, labor markets, and digital governance.

The conference included two thematic forums focusing on human-centered productivity policies and implementing policies across countries. It also included paper presentations on labor reforms, competitiveness, and public sector productivity. Participants joined site visits to the Institute for Health Behavioral Research, Ministry of Health, Malaysia, and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, where they observed real-world applications of behavioral insights. The conference reinforced the importance of behavioral insights in driving policy innovation and encouraged future collaboration among member economies to deepen their adoption of approaches driven by behavioral insights.
