As part of a Technical Expert Services project, the APO Secretariat and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) held the Workshop on Mastering Productivity Solutions to Boost Performance, Accelerate Growth, and Sustain Competitive Advantage face-to-face in Putrajaya and Melaka, Malaysia, from 20 to 24 October 2025. The project introduced the Steinbeis consulting methodology as a structured approach to strengthening collaboration between industry and academia and translating innovation into practical productivity improvements.

Twenty-three participants from Malaysian enterprises, the MPC, and relevant institutions took part in the workshop to strengthen their capacity to diagnose productivity challenges, apply structured consulting tools, and develop actionable improvement plans. Two resource persons from Germany led sessions covering productivity diagnostics, standardized assessment packages, site-based problem analysis, and structured solution design. The workshop included group discussions, practical exercises, and site visits to Bok Opt Sdn. Bhd., Kyosei Seimitsu Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., HICOM-Teck See Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., and HICOM Diecastings Sdn. Bhd.

Participants expressed high satisfaction with the project’s relevance to their professional roles and were confident that the knowledge and skills gained would enhance their performance and support data-driven, structured productivity management practices.
