Secretary-General Dr. Santhi visits Hong Kong

The Secretary-General met key officials of the Hong Kong Productivity Centre to explore technical cooperation.

Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Secretary-General Dr. Santhi Kanoktanaporn paid a courtesy visit to the Hong Kong Productivity Centre (HKPC) to explore how the two organizations could collaborate on areas of mutual interest.

During his visit to Hong Kong, accompanied by APO Secretariat Administration and Finance Department Director Sherman Loo, the Secretary-General held discussions with HKPC Chairman Willy Lin and the senior management team including Executive Director Mohamed D. Butt, Technology Development Director Dr. Lawrence Cheung, and Business Management Director Gordon Lo.

HKPC Chairman Lin and his team led Dr. Santhi on a tour of corporate headquarters in Kowloon and briefed him on HKPC services covering Smart Industry One, showcasing Industry 4.0 concepts in manufacturing and smart homes; Inno Space that helps startups transform innovative ideas into designs or products; and 3D Printing One, involving industry partnerships to promote a wide spectrum of 3D printing technologies.

Secretary-General Dr. Santhi and Chairman Lin concluded that there was scope for future technical cooperation between the HKPC and APO, particularly on Industry 4.0-related topics.
