The China Productivity Center, the Republic of China (ROC), held the Training Course on Smart Building Solutions for Sustainable Productivity Outcomes in Taipei, 10–14 November 2025, attended by 22 participants from 12 member economies. The objectives were to enhance participants’ understanding of solutions for smart building management, give them knowledge of methodologies for quantitatively measuring and verifying energy efficiency gains, and enable them to evaluate the broader environmental and financial benefits of smart building solutions.

Sessions were delivered by four resource persons from Canada, the ROC, India, and Oman. They gave an overview of smart buildings and energy modeling, including practical applications, and shared insights into IoT, automation technologies, data-driven and return on investment–driven building management, and practical approaches to retrofitting. Participants visited Taiwan Fertilizer Co., Ltd.; Colliers International Taiwan; and the Taiwan Carbon & Digitalization Development Association. On the final day, participants conducted an energy modeling exercise using Microsoft Excel, were divided into groups for active discussions on stakeholder mapping and business cases, and exchanged views with the resource persons.
