Strengthening Leadership of Service Transformation in the Lifestyle and Service Sectors

22 Sep 2025

The Singapore Productivity Centre (SGPC) held the Workshop on Leadership of Service Transformation in the Lifestyle and Service Sectors in Singapore from 1 to 4 September 2025. The workshop gathered 19 participants from 14 APO member economies and three from one nonmember economy, and it was facilitated by four resource persons, one from the Republic of China, one from Germany, and two from Singapore.

The program focused on leadership as a key driver of transformation, competitiveness, productivity, and innovation in the lifestyle and service sectors. Sessions introduced process reengineering, foresight methods, resilient leadership, systemic change management, and technology adoption for people-centered service delivery.

Participants visited the National Library Board and the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Punggol Campus, gaining insights into inclusive, community-oriented service transformation and successful, sustainable integrated institutional design. All APO member and nonmember participants prepared learning diaries, images of the future, and institutional action plans. These captured the lessons learned and outlined strategic planning for implementation in their institutions and regions.
