An online workshop titled Workshop on Impact of Circular Economy Principles on Productivity and Sustainability was jointly conducted by the Japan Productivity Center and the APO Secretariat from 22 to 24 April 2025. The workshop supported the APO’s mission to promote sustainable socioeconomic development through Green Productivity, which aligns with circular economy principles such as minimizing waste, circulating resources, and regenerating nature.
The objectives were to examine the circular economy and its implications; identify practical strategies, methodologies, and technologies; and share good practices that enhance resource efficiency and sustainability in member economies. A total of 41 participants from 12 APO member economies attended the sessions.
Three resource persons, one from the Republic of China and two from Japan, delivered sessions and led interactive discussions. Participants explored international standards like ISO 59000 and learned how circular economy principles support systems thinking, innovation, and economic resilience. Through knowledge sharing and collaboration, this workshop contributed to building a more resilient, productive, and sustainable economic future in the Asia-Pacific region.
