Thailand hosts BCN project on ESG for the Republic of Korea

24 Jan 2024

The Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) organized an In-country Bilateral Cooperation between NPOs (BCN) project on Sharing ESG Experiences and Information from the ROK, 12–14 December 2023. The project included bilateral meetings between the FTPI and four Korea Productivity Center (KPC) representatives to formulate strategies and strengthen development initiatives through the transfer of knowledge and know-how.

Sustainability is a pivotal management focus in both the ROK and Thailand. In addition to corporate social responsibility, there is growing international emphasis on promoting sustainable development through concepts such as ESG. The Government of Thailand, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Stock Exchange of Thailand, encourages corporate participation in ESG initiatives by developing regulations and indices.

The BCN sessions included site visits allowing delegates to gain insights into initiatives, policies, and key issues related to ESG initiatives. The visits were hosted by the Office of National Higher Education Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council, PTT Public Company Limited, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency Bangkok Trade Center. This BCN project provided ROK delegates with innovative, creative insights into productivity practices and related issues, addressing current and future needs and requirements.
