The Eco-products International Fair (EPIF) Secretariat presented to prospective Japanese exhibitors the details and arrangements of the 2011 (EPIF) in a briefing session last 15 November 2010 at the Grand Arc Hanzomon Hotel, Tokyo. Next year’s EPIF, with the theme “Green Productivity for Sustainable Energy and Environment,” will be held on 10-12 February at the Pragati Maidan, India’s foremost venue for exhibits and fairs in New Delhi.

According to S.Miyawaka, APO Director for Industry Department, who opened the session and welcomed the participants, the EPIF 2011 is being planned to provide both Japanese and Indian businesses with an “effective platform for promoting their environment friendly products.” To the Japanese companies, joining the EPIF 2011 exposes their products and services to “one of the largest emerging countries” in the world now, according to Mr. Arun Gopal, Economic and Commercial Minister from the Embassy of India. Mr. Gupal, who was the honored speaker at the event, noted that the EPIF has the full backing of key players in India, namely the Department of Industrial Policy, Chamber of Commerce and the National Productivity Council, and is being held at an auspicious time when the Indian Government is gearing for environmental friendly policy and sustainable development programs. APO Industry Department Program Officer, K.D. Bhardwaj, who presented the EPIF details, also mentioned that EPIF 2011 is being held alongside the International Engineering and Technology Fair.
